David brings 15 years experience in commercial system design, user interface design, and software engineering to MAYA. He bolsters this experience with analytical tools from a strong background in mathematics.
Among the major projects he worked on before coming to MAYA are a fiber-optic temperature sensor, a satellite-based e-mail system, and the user interface for a Finite Element Analysis package. As he worked on these projects, he observed that in each of them the amount of data that was being generated was growing, but the information contained within that data was getting harder and harder to discern.
His desire to help users clear the thicket of data that obscures the information they need informs and drives his work as an engineer at MAYA.
David has a Ph.D. in engineering science and applied mathematics from Northwestern University and a B.S. in mathematics from Trinity University in San Antonio.
