Stephen recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a Bachelor’s degree in industrial design and psychology. He can sew, weld, blow glass, and make furniture. He also used to design and machine lab apparatus, and is always working on someone’s car.
As an industrial designer, he takes care of MAYA’s model shop, and can prototype anything we can dream up.
Stephen used to own and operate a soft-product company that worked with users to design and manufacture small production runs of backpacks/messenger bags for very specific groups of people and their needs. While working as a freelancer, he designed a suspension system for camera bags that has been patented.
When he’s not at MAYA, and it’s nice outside, you can find him biking or out on the water (snow in the winter). If it’s not nice outside, you’ll find him making something in a shop somewhere.
