Stuart Roth has dedicated much of his time at MAYA helping to make the Universal Database a reality.
He continues to be a prime contributor to key pieces of MAYA’s research agenda that began some years ago with the development of Visage. Foremost among these pieces are the VIA Repository and the Shepherding agents that flow information between repositories. These provide the backbone for the Information Commons. (Civium: A Geographic Information System for Everyone, the Information Commons, and the Universal Database.).
Stuart has also been known to step out from behind the curtain and help MAYA’s commercial clients tackle the challenges of infocentric computing and human-centered design.
Stuart holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. He also has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University.
