Tandy's TRS80 Color Computer II
Emulated on the (Power) Macintosh
Last Updated November 18th, 1997
Screenshots of Virtual CoCo in action.
This application is provided for owners of the Color Computer. If you do not own this computer, you are not legally entitled to use it because of the copyright by Tandy on the Extended Color BASIC ROM.
Virtual CoCo is a PPC native demo application.
The "autotyper utility" that had been that had been donated to this page has
been removed, because it was reportedly contaminated with a virus. Rest
assured that all of the other files (which I personally made) available via
this page are clean.
Virtual CoCo 0.9.5 is now available for download, sporting:
- cleaned up sound
- enhanced disk interface
- preliminary printing support
- enhanced keyboard support
- faster tape loading
- assorted bug fixes (mostly video-related)
- a non-modal debugger
Known problems:
- video is reportedly still slower (than in v0.8) for some users, unfortunately
- the BREAK key and SHIFT+@ are not currently handled
- the PLAY command has a glitch between octaves 2 and 3 (most likely a 6809 bug)
- interrupt handling is not 100% accurate
- timing problems in some games (i.e. Rail Runner)
- LLIST does not output newlines to printer.out
- the Mac cursor should be made invisible when over the CoCo window
- tape writing and saving is temporarily disabled
- the file type for .CAS, .DSK, and .PAK files must be manually set (see the documentation)
Make sure to read the accompanying README file before sending me any questions.
