From a Prodigy print ad:
Caption: "Amber" got into Prodigy Chat on Thursday, 11:38 P.M.
Yeah, right. What do you suppose the odds are:
that the girl in the picture is named "Amber".
that anyone routinely hanging out in a chat room looks much like this woman.
that, if they do look like this, they're going to spend much time
chatting with a bunch of hormone poisoned 18 year olds.
But a great ad none-the-less. Kudos to the agency. And, to give
credit where it is due: at the time of this ad (1995) Prodigy was
certainly one of the better online services -- at least as far as
finding other interested and directed people online.
