Tiger Teams generate innovative, doable ideas quickly. Nine to twelve designers form three teams that include participants from each discipline: Engineering, Human Sciences, and Visual Design.
What to expect
The teams compete over an intense, one-week period to solve a problem presented by the exercise leader. Some clients ask the teams to solve one problem from different angles. Other clients ask them to solve multiple, but related, problems. At the end of the exercise, each team presents their results, which often incorporate the following:
- Personas
Personas are profiles of typical users whose experiences will be considered in the
development of the design. - Storyboards
Storyboards depict “day-in-the-life” interactions and tasks, playing out concepts in real-world scenarios. - Prototypes
Prototypes bring form to conceptual models to demonstrate and test critical features and functions. - “Super Bowl Commercials”
“Super Bowl Commercials” capture the essence of customer concepts in 30-second “pitches.” The interdisciplinary makeup of the teams guarantees critical attention and input from multiple perspectives. A diversity of skills and experiences within each team allows new insights and ideas to be captured, considered, and grounded in the possible.
